Thankyou all the same. When I put it back in, everything on the ring works (keypad,calling,speakers etc) on the other hand the screen is totally black. Thankyou mnmboy, i tried that decree and it did reboot but the screen is still ebon. Hope someone has any suggestions as to what can be done to fix this. The problem is that i took absent the battery whilst the phone was still switched on. Whenever I turn the bent off/on a short chime happens that has never happened before now. Well, you can't use it with Verizon. The Samsung U600 is a GSM phone, which requires a sim card in establishment to work. Also, with Verizon, you can only use Verizon's phones. The ESN digit from a non-Verizon call will not be in Verizon's database of their phones, and therefrom, they will not activate it. They are two completely deviating technologies and are not compatible with each other. A GSM phone, even if unlocked, will exclusive work with another GSM provider, such as T-Mobile and Cingular/AT&T. Verizon's phones and network are CDMA, which doesn't use sim cards.
