How can I deleate the previous owners details without their password from my Samsung d900 mobile phone?

When I one's damndest to delete all/sim etc, I am asked for their password which I do not have. Any help is much appreciated. Is there any thing I can do. I bought the call moment hand but cannot use all the features ie camera/video as the memory is full with the previous owners stuff.
